Holed up in Zona Norte, the red-light district of Tijuana, Nick, an American veteran of the Iraq war, seeks deliverance by helping Ana, a young Mexican woman, navigate this Court of Miracles controlled by the narcos in a quest for her long-lost brother.
Born in Eaubonne, France, he entered an art school where he presented in 2001 his video work on the world of the Yenish travellers. After shooting his docu-drama Carne Viva in Mexico, he directed in 2010 his first fiction feature The Lord’s Ride, about the daily life of a Yenish family. His second film Eat Your Bones premiered at Directors’ Fortnight in 2014 and won the Jean-Vigo Prize. He went back to Tijuana to capture the life of its inhabitants and made the experimental short film Tijuana Tales, prelude to Tijuana Bible.
